Our Vyosha Spice Mix is the traditional Trikatu recipe. Trikatu is a traditional Ayurvedic herbal blend consisting of three hot spices: Ginger, black pepper and long pepper. The name "Trikatu" comes from Sanskrit and literally means "three pungencies". This blend has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries and is known for its many health benefits.
Here is some background information on the three main ingredients of Trikatu:
Ginger:
Ginger is a widely used root and an important spice in Ayurvedic cooking.
In Ayurvedic medicine, ginger is often used to improve digestion, relieve nausea and promote blood circulation.
Black Pepper:
Black pepper is one of the most commonly used spices in the world and is extracted from the dried berries of the pepper plant.
In Ayurvedic medicine, black pepper is called "Maricha" and is known for its warming and digestive properties.
It is often used to boost metabolism and increase the bioavailability of nutrients.
Long Pepper:
Long pepper, also known as "pippali," is an elongated, cone-shaped fruit valued in Ayurvedic medicine.
It has similar uses to black pepper, but is often valued for its specific therapeutic properties, such as its respiratory support.
Long pepper is often used to relieve respiratory problems, stimulate digestion, and support the immune system.
Trikatu is often taken as a supplement or in powder form and can provide a variety of health benefits, including supporting digestion, relieving cold symptoms, promoting circulation and supporting the immune system. However, it is important to note that the use of Trikatu may vary depending on individual needs and health conditions. One should always consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner or physician before taking Ayurvedic preparations.

from 9 reviewsI love the pink latte, the smell is amazing and it tastes just right. I replace my coffee with it now!
I love your spices, my Coffee tastes wonderful now! My friends are enthusiastic too
Danke!
Im a chef of over 20 years and this is the first time I’ve tried a blend with Asafoetida or “hing” - It adds a mysterious richness and umami to a dish, like spinach and lentils fried in some coconut oil. I even roasted chicken with it and the flavor is like a new and improved garlic, but without the upset stomach later! I’ll be using this a lot and may have to order a bigger supply!
